Courage is Strength

Step Dancer, a colt sired by War Dancer, was born at Sugar Plum Farm two years ago. Instead of being nurtured and loved by his mother, Just Be Steppin’ refused to care for Step Dancer. Thus, we were forced to bring in a nurse mare for Step Dancer, since his mother was so aggressive and unwilling to raise him.

As barn manager, Crystal said, “I always wish the best for the ones that have it really bad.” So, on September 4th, 2020, when Step Dancer placed first in a New York Bred maiden race in Saratoga Springs, NY, we were truly blown away.

To sweeten the news even more, Pivotal Run, also a War Dancer colt, placed second in the same race. War Dancer’s legacy is continuing in the best way. We are so proud of War Dancer’s progeny, and we are confident his children will accomplish great things.

Even in the face of such adversity, Step Dancer persevered. He not only survived, but he proved to the world that he is more than capable of being a serious competitor on the race track.
